This coast runs on sunshine and cold lager. The craft scene is smaller than the postcards suggest, and the people holding it together are worth naming.
We are One Life Brew Co. · a beer brand in development here, not a bar, a shop or a stockist. We made this map because an honest English version did not exist, and because the scene we are joining deserves a straight account of itself.
Every name below is public knowledge as of October 2026, when this map was last checked. The scene moves fast · venues open, close and change hands.
One Life Brew Co. is building a brewery in Marina Baixa on the Costa Blanca in Spain, the comarca around Benidorm and Altea. No beer is for sale yet. This guide maps the craft beer scene we are joining: Althaia in Altea, Baixa Brewing Co in Albir, the bars of Benidorm and the towns around them.
ALTEA
THE INCUMBENT
Altea already has the thing every other town on this map wants: its own brewery. Cervezas Althaia brews in the comarca, runs a taproom and guided tours, and keeps a long awards list. It is the incumbent, and it earned that.
For bars, El Bar de Confianza in the old town is the craft pour to know. Althaia's home patch sits just up the road · the two together make Altea the easiest proper craft day out in Marina Baixa.
ALBIR
THE BREWPUB
El Albir, the beachside strip of L'Alfàs del Pi, has its own brewpub: Baixa Brewing Co. Real-ale led, growlers to go, and reported as the top-rated thing to do in El Albir.
Albir sits on the coastal tram line out of Benidorm, which makes it the easiest brewery visit on this coast without a car.
BENIDORM
THE GAP
Benidorm pours more craft beer than anywhere else on this coast and brews none of it. L'Abadía, BeerHappy, Beer House, Beer Barrel, Cruz Blanca and MetaBrew Taproom all run serious taps.
A town-branded beer has existed before · RetoBeer Serra Gelada, contract-brewed outside the town. Bars without a local producer is a gap, and that gap is part of why we are building here.
CALPE
THE HONEST ANSWER
Calpe is mostly mainstream beer. Biergarten by 78, the German-style cervecería, is the local note.
The honest version: the nearest real craft beer is south, in Altea and Albir. We would rather say that plainly than pad this section.
LA NUCÍA
THE FESTIVAL TOWN
La Nucía sits inland behind Benidorm and stays quiet on taps. Its claim is bigger than its bar list: Oktoberfest La Nucía, reported as the oldest beer festival in Spain.
Gambrinus is the local beer restaurant · mainstream-led, useful to know.
VILLAJOYOSA
THE SOUTHERN EDGE
Villajoyosa · La Vila Joiosa, the painted seafront town · closes the comarca to the south. El Colectivo is the craft stop in town; Gambrinus covers the mainstream beer-restaurant lane.
It is the southernmost of the six towns on this map and the closest to the city of Alicante.

Further afield, Alicante city runs deeper: BIRA Bar, Bubbles Beer Club, Altabirra and Postiguet are the names to know. If the build goes to plan, One Life Pale Ale earns its own row in a table like this one.
EVENTS
Oktoberfest La Nucía is the headline: an annual festival reported as the oldest beer festival in Spain, in the town behind Benidorm. It is the strongest proof that this coast has a beer culture beyond the beach bars.
Althaia also runs brewery tours and tastings in Altea · the beer-experience economy already exists on this coast, and it is theirs.
One Life has no events programme. When there is something real to host, it will be announced on the updates list, not guessed at here.

Cervezas Althaia in Altea, with tours and a taproom; Baixa Brewing Co in Albir; and the craft bars of Benidorm such as L'Abadía and BeerHappy.
What's the difference between the pale ale and an IPA?
Pale ale is the balanced, more sessionable sibling · hop character without the bitterness and alcohol escalation of an IPA, which is why it fits this coast.
Is One Life Pale Ale available to buy?
No · it is in development in Marina Baixa. Nothing is for sale yet; the email list is the only way to hear about the first release.
Where is One Life beer brewed?

Is One Life connected to One Life Spirits or MetaBrew?
No · those are unrelated companies sharing a name. The dissolved Dutch One Life Brewing BV was the founder's earlier entity, part of the documented story.
